What does everybody need to know about Passion for Learning?
Passion for Learning (P4L) was founded in 2004 with the mission of strengthening our local community in Silver Spring, Maryland. Fast forward to today, and P4L has supported 2,300+ local students across Montgomery County as they have explored STEM-related interests and pursued post-secondary education and career success. This school year, we will be offering our highly engaging, student-driven workshops at six [Montgomery County Public Schools] MCPS middle schools and two high schools, and we are always looking to expand our offerings.
How did the application process work? When did you officially start?
I first learned about the P4L Executive Director opportunity on LinkedIn through a post by Cynthia Rubenstein (whom I was following). I submitted my application materials in April and went through three progressive rounds of interviews, each time meeting with more members of P4L’s Board of Directors prior to being selected. My first official day was July 5, 2022.
How have your previous jobs and experiences prepared you for your current role?
