Ocean Turns Nine

Ocean turned nine on Monday. She seemed to have a really nice birthday (and did not attend school).

We celebrated at Mark’s Kitchen in the evening, which is the kids’ favorite restaurant in town. It was wonderful to have my parents here for the occasion. They’re both so important to the Tiny Indigo Family and the kids really treasure their grandparent time.

Ocean’s birthday party is this Sunday. It’s an animal-themed affair and we’ll be making dog treats for the canines at our local rescue shelter — the place where we got London from. This is her idea and it’s quintessential Ocean. She’s such an interesting, fun and thoughtful kid. I love her (and Amaranth) so dearly.

Tomorrow we’re celebrating London’s “birthday.” We adopted her on March 21 of last year. I may write more about that soon.
