Talking Vitiligo with Living Dappled’s Erika Page

Erika Page is the Founder and Editor of Living Dappled, a vitiligo lifestyle blog for women with the autoimmune condition. After getting vitiligo at the age of seven, she lost 100% of her pigment and supports other women with the condition through her platform. Today she lives in Richmond, Virginia with her husband, daughter and two cats.

This interview has been edited lightly.

Would you tell us a little bit about Living Dappled?

Yes! Living Dappled is an online blog and community for women with vitiligo, an autoimmune disease that results in the loss of pigment in skin and hair. I founded Living Dappled in 2016 after living with the condition for most of my life and seeing a need for education, support and inspiration in this community. We work with medical experts to provide verified information about vitiligo as an autoimmune disease, share stories about everyday life with vitiligo and provide tips and solutions to help women live with the condition. In addition to the blog, we also have a membership network and tee collection.

In your byline on the site, you mention that you’re a “self-love advocate.” What does that mean exactly?
